About Me

Dermot Allen

Wireless and Integration Engineer at Vocera Communications.

I have been working in the wireless Industry for 5 years (although there was a break in between). I started in 2008 with Hill-Rom, where I worked in Wireless for 3 years. I took a break from the WIFI world working on ASCOM IP Dect systems and Centrak Locating but in Jan 2016 I came back to WIFI working for Vocera. I am more committed these days to growing my WIFI knowledge and learning more from the greater WIFI community. I look forward to contributing to the community more in 2018.

Last year I passed my CWNA, CWAP, CWSP and in Jan of 2018 I passed the last one CWDP. I am currently studying for my CCNA and hope to study and obtain my CWNE and CCNP Wireless before the end of 2018. I strongly recommend the CWNP program to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of the WIFI world. It’s a great program.

I was hoping to go to WLPC in 2018 but that did not work out. Hopefully next year.
